Farragut's depth helps win
KISL Championship Swim Meet

West High School and Webb School had plenty
of victories at Saturday night's KISL
Championship Swim Meet, but it was Farragut
that claimed the team championship at the UT
Aquatic Center.

Ann Neidhardt had the lone individual victory
for Farragut in the 100 butterfly and won a
relay event in the 200 freestyle (Tim Hughes,
Clint Nicely, Eric Welke and Walter Chan).
However, the Admirals were second in three
events and third in eight other events.

Farragut finished with 728.50 points with Webb
next at 607, followed by West (538),
Bearden
(388)
and Oak Ridge (348).

Double winners were Julia Stowers of West
(200 free, 500 free), Megan Hollar of West (200
individual medley, 100 breastroke), Davis
Tarwater of Webb (500 free, 200 free);
Landon Owen of Bearden (100 fly, 100
backstroke)
and unattached swimmer Andy
Bethmann (50 free, 100 free).

Tarwater, Stowers and Hollar also swam legs
on two winning relay teams.

Other individual winners included Webb's Reid
Owen (200 IM) and Megan Nystrand (50 free);
West's Meghan Gutekunst (100 free); Alcoa's
Martha Cate Shamblin (100 back); and
Bearden's Bahryt Henry (100 breast).
